Apple is about to release AirPods Lite according to an insider. Here’s what we know about this crazy rumor of entry-level headphones!
Apple intends to mark the year 2023. In addition to the arrival of the iPhone 15 with an announced release date, the Cupertino company will have to accept other stores in its ecosystem which could sign the return of Fortnite.
Not to mention that according to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Tech, Apple is working on a more accessible version of its connected headphones, AirPods Lite.

New, more accessible AirPods?
As we know, Apple rarely ventures into the entry-level market. Or at least its products remain expensive, like the iPhone SE. We imagine that the AirPods Lite will not escape the rule! According to Jeff Pu, demand for the AirPods line will drop in 2023 to go from 73 million last year to 63 million this year.
The insider specifies that this is a consequence of the absence of a new version in 2023. Which means, if we read between the lines, that the AirPods Lite will arrive next year, in 2024. Their price would be lower than the AirPods 2 available at 159 euros on the Apple site.
The goal seems to be to flood the market to allow the range to boost its sales after a weaker year 2023. The AirPods already have a great commercial success, this version would allow an increase in sales for smaller budgets. Especially in the midst of an economic crisis.
What features for AirPods Lite?
In terms of characteristics, nothing has been revealed by Jeff Pu. Knowing that the price of the AirPods Lite would be below the AirPods 2, one can think of similar specificities. We therefore do not expect these entry-level headphones to offer premium technologies such as active noise reduction.
The sound quality will probably not be not as exceptional than other higher models in the range.
