Apple is expected to begin shipping its next-generation AirPods headphones and its upcoming AirPods Max 2 headphones in the second half of 2024 or the first half of 2025.
To manufacture its next earphones and headphones, Apple is about to change suppliers. The company would separate from Goertek in favor of Hon Teng (a subsidiary of Foxconn) to carry out the assembly of its AirPods. At least that’s what analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says.
Inflated prices in France
According to his information, identified by Mac4ever, Apple is reportedly considering selling its next-generation AirPods headphones for $99, the lowest price ever for these devices. On its site, the brand currently offers the second and third generations of AirPods as well as the AirPods Pro 2, respectively at 129, 169 and 249 dollars.
Do not expect to find future Apple headphones for less than 100 euros in France. As is often the case, the passage of company prices from dollars to euros is not mathematically a simple conversion. This is why French customers must now pay 159, 209 and 299 euros to acquire the headphones already on sale. Apple’s future wireless headphones with wireless charging, touch controls, spatial sound, but no active noise reduction, could therefore be offered around 120 euros, the average price of competing headphones with almost equivalent specifications ( Oppo Free 2, Nothing ear Stick, Sennheiser CX True Wireless, Sony WF-C500…)
Ming-Chi Kuo clarifies that shipments of the new generation of “low-priced” AirPods are expected in the second half of 2024 or the first part of 2025. The analyst also tells us that a second version of the AirPods Max headphones should be part of these shipments.
On the other hand, no information has been disclosed on the characteristics of this high-end product. Only clarification, the assembly of the AirPods Max 2 will be entrusted to Luxshare-ICT and Hon Teng.
