A Apple is the subject of a new investigation by regulators in France over alleged product obsolescence, i.e. that Apple deliberately contributes to making its devices obsolete in favor of newer models.
How does it count AFP Newsthe investigation will have started in December 2022 and is related to Apple’s practice of associating the serial numbers of components used in repairs with the serial numbers of its iPhones, iPads and Macs.
“These practices violate not only the right to repair, but also the development of mobile phone reconditioning, as devices that circulate again may suffer current or future malfunctions”can be read in the complaint that was initially filed against Apple by the Stop Planned Obsolescence association.
