Back to the Apple Watch Series 9. What can the little brother of the Apple smartwatch do?

Apple Watch Series 9: Faster, brighter and gestures

One thing in advance: The innovations compared to its predecessor are limited. The new, bright display with up to 2000 nits in peak brightness should be positively mentioned.

This puts the watch on par with the first generation Apple Watch Ultra. Further hardware adaptation can be found in the SoC: The S9 chip lands on the Series 9.

Above all, this is faster and offers faster queries for Siri. Speaking of which: You can now query your health data via the voice assistant.

Other features also include gesture control. With “Double Tap” you will be able to receive calls in the future. How is that supposed to work? As the name suggests, all you have to do is tap two fingers together.

You can also use this gesture to turn the timer on and off or to scroll through the new widgets that are coming with WatchOS10.

Nothing has changed in the smartwatch’s sensors this year. According to Apple, the Apple Watch Series 9 will be the first in-house product to be Carbon Neutral (carbon emission).
