Apple announced the launch of its Black Unity collection Wednesday, celebrating Black History Month with a special-edition Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop, matching iPhone wallpaper, and mosaic watch face. The watch face and wallpaper patterns will be available next week, along with its latest software updates: iOS 16.3 and WatchOS 9.3, according to the company.

Starting in February, Apple will offer select content from Black History Month for AppleTV, Fitness More, Music, Maps, Books, Podcasts and App Store. The Smithsonian has created a special set of guides that highlight landmarks and events in the Civil rights movementand Dr. Jelani Cobb curated a series of movies for the Apple TV app.

Apple’s $49 Black Unity Sport Loop is available to order today on the website and through the Apple Store app, and it will be in select Apple Stores starting January 24. Band fits Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch Series 4 or newer and Apple Watch Ultra. To view the Unity Watch Face, you need a Watch Series 4 or later with WatchOS 9.3, an iPhone 8 or later, or an iPhone SE (second generation) or later that runs iOS 16.3.

Apple’s Black Unity Sport Loop spells out the word unity and features the colors of the Pan-African flag.

Along with the new watch face, the Unity iPhone wallpaper will drop next week. To run it, you need an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 16.3. Although Apple has not specified a concrete date for the software update releases, we can expect new features such as parking assistance on Apple Maps, security keys and other ways to use Emergency SOS.
