Charles Aránguiz will turn his back on the Bundesliga in the summer after almost eight years. The Chilean midfielder leaves Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer and returns to Brazil’s Serie A.

There the 33-year-old signed a preliminary contract with his former club Internacional. According to the Brazilian first division club, the contract is valid from July of this year and is dated until June 30, 2025.

Aránguiz moved to Leverkusen from Internacional in 2015 for a transfer fee of 13 million euros. The right-footed player has played 214 times for the Werkself and was directly involved in 45 goals (17 goals, 28 assists). Those responsible at Leverkusen have not yet commented on the change.
