Members of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) detained a man with an international arrest warrant and kidnapped a shipment of cigarettes, which intended to be crossed by water, irregularly, to Brazil, from the coast of El Soberbio.
According to what was reported by official sources of the Force, the operation, in which Freddy, a dog from the Institution trained to detect illegal substances, also participated, was the result of control and prevention tasks that are carried out daily and that allowed detecting , at kilometer 1134 of the Uruguay River, the illegal export attempt.
A 52-year-old man handled packages from a truck and used a ramp to load them onto a boat docked on the coast. The maritime authority interrupted the maneuver and verified that the merchandise did not have a customs guarantee, the vehicle used for its transfer was stolen and, in addition, an international arrest warrant issued by Interpol Brazil weighed on the suspect.
The personnel searched the cargo and verified that the products did not have a customs guarantee. In addition, cash and mobile phone equipment were seized, the spokesmen said.
The Federal Courts of Oberá and Eldorado intervene in the case, who ordered the fugitive to be detained, the merchandise and the means used for its transfer to be seized.
