The San Juan Municipal Police, personnel from the Fire Department and agents from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office (ICE), carried out another operation against businesses on Friday night that culminated in fines and arrests.

The detainees were identified as Melvin Reyes Rivera, 47, for illegal possession of a “Cobra Special” revolver with a capacity of six ammunition and a .38 caliber cartridge with four ammunition. That arrest occurred in front of the Omairy Sport Bar establishment, on Del Parque street, intersection with Padre Capuchino.

Two other men: De la Cruz de Jesús and Joan Benítez Guzmán were arrested and turned over to federal authorities, since they had a file for violations of immigration laws.

The total fines amounted to $38,900.

During the operation, they visited nine shops. The employees of the Municipal Permits Office issued 11 fines and the firefighters issued 16. There were five infractions for violation of the Public Order Code and three tickets for the Traffic Law.
