MIAMI.- Consolidating its position as America’s premier art fair, the 2023 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach ran through December 10, marked by a great diversity of artistic trends on display inside and outside the halls; a new floor plan; the presence of 25 new galleries from other cities in the United States, as well as from Mexico, Brazil, France, the Netherlands, Poland and Egypt.
The fair featured a showcase of prominent collectors and institutions from the region and around the world and a vibrant program of events and activations that took place both at the fair and in other cultural spaces in the city.
The exhibition, which brought together 277 leading international galleries in its five sectors, attracted an attendance of some 79,000 spectators during its VIP and public days, the organizers said in a statement.
Inspired by Miami’s position as a gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, Art Basel’s Conversations program featured notable speakers including Cuban-born artist María Magdalena Campos-Pons; the collector, curator and philanthropist Estrellita Brodsky; and singer-songwriter, producer and activist Chance the Rapper.
Art Basel Miami Beach is held every year at the Convention Center in Miami Beach.
