In May of last year we reported the announcement of a 500 Hz monitor that Asus was developing. It turns out that he finally left the prototype stage and is already being manufactured. And the Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QPannounced yesterday by the Taiwanese chipmaker at CES.

ROG Swift Pro is the world’s fastest gaming monitor, reaching an incredible 540Hz refresh rates.

The fastest monitor in the world

To reach such an absurd speed, Asus had to develop a new type of panel, the e-sports TN (E-TN), which according to the brand, offers response times up to 60% faster than TN screens, which are already known for their speed.

Inside is the G-SYNC processor with NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer built-in – all with the intent of combating system latency and tearing of frames, offering the best competitive experience possible.

Okay, image latency is being fought to the extreme, but what about sound latency? ASUS chose to introduce an ESS DAC available through the monitor’s P3 input: The company claims that this way we will have zero audio latency.

aggressive design

Physically, the ROG Swift Pro doesn’t hide what it is – an extremely competitive and aggressive gaming monitor: We have several RGB points scattered around the structure, as usual in peripherals and ROG hardware, and the base has a retractable horizontal adjustment system in order to free up more space on the table.

Who was this monitor made for?

This is a monitor really intended for exclusive use in competitive gaming for the following reasons:

  • TN panels are not known for their color fidelity or image quality, but for their speed of response time;
  • The relatively small size of 24 inches and FULL HD resolution are the standard for esports gamers;
  • The high refresh rate and short response time are essential to maintain the competitive edge over other players, in addition to making the game much more fluid.

How much will this prank cost?

When asked by the site The VergeASUS stated that the price he must be from 899 dollars (BRL 4900, converted directly into the current quotation). It’s a heck of a lot for a FULL HD monitor, but if you want the fastest monitor in the world, you’re going to pay a lot.

Obviously you don’t need such an insanely high refresh rate to play well. Below I leave a review of a cost-effective monitor from the ASUS TUF line. It’s not expensive and works great in competitive games.

O Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP its release date has not been announced until now.
