At least 8 dead and 5 injured in an alleged confrontation between criminals in Ecuador

Redacción.- At least eight dead and five injured leave an alleged confrontation between criminal groups in the Ecuadorian province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, the National Police reported this Sunday.

“It is presumed that it would be clashes between criminal groups, which left 8 people dead and 5 injured,” the Police told the press.

He added that at the moment they are carrying out “the pertinent coordination” so that the Chief of the La Concordia District offers more details about the event.

On the other hand, Colonel Gustavo Játiva reported this Sunday that in the same province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas they apprehended three alleged suspects for the crime of kidnapping and obtained various evidence linking the fact.

The event occurred last Friday at approximately 7:00 p.m. local time (00:00 GMT) in the sector of the “Che Guevara” cooperative.

In a lot with banana plantations “two kidnapped citizens would be found, where one of the kidnapped would be a police officer,” he said, noting that the two people were released.
