Landshut/Hamburg – The ARD moves to the nuclear power plant!

According to “Bayerischer Rundfunk”, the “daily topics” broadcast on Friday at 10:15 p.m. directly from the Isar 2 nuclear power plant near Landshut.

Reason: The kiln will be shut down on Saturday.

Normally, Ingo Zamperoni (48) moderates the late news in the first from the studio in Hamburg. On Friday, the TV journalist wants to show “exclusive pictures and impressions from inside the power plant” in the 45-minute program.

Zamperoni also wants to interview Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), Green Party boss Ricarda Lang and nuclear power plant boss Carsten Müller.

Zamperoni: “Being there with the daily topics is always something special for us. In this case, not only because it interrupts our usual processes and offers our audience new perspectives, but also because it is a very special location. At Isar 2 we were once again able to gain an exclusive insight into the ongoing operation of this highly complex technology. It was definitely an exciting experience.”

Helge Fuhst, second editor-in-chief of ARD-aktuell on the unusual broadcasting location: “In moments when history is being written and that move our society, we want to be there as ‘topics of the day’. Generations have struggled, discussed and protested about the nuclear phase-out. That deserves special attention.”

Nuclear Aus heavily disputed

As much as the ARD celebrates its show – the nuclear phase-out continues to be heavily criticized: In addition to Isar 2, Neckarwestheim and Emsland are also to be finally taken off the grid.

So says TÜV boss Joachim Bühler: The anti-nuclear decision was not necessary. “The three nuclear power plants could have continued to run until the end of the decade,” Bühler told BILD. “The German nuclear power plants are still among the safest power plants in the world. This applies until the shutdown and beyond.”
