On December 13, Chloe, a 24-year-old woman, went to the police station to file a complaint against her ex-companion. Close to retirement, the police major then told him to come back the next day.
But, two hours later, she was beaten up outside her home by her ex-companion. Since then, she is still hospitalized in a coma and an investigation by the judicial police is underway.
Malpractice
At the same time, the IGPN had therefore been seized to investigate the conditions in which the police major received her at the police station. And in order to determine why he didn’t want to take her complaint.
According to the conclusions of this investigation, completed in January, the police major should go to the disciplinary council. The police force considered that he had committed professional misconduct.
It is now up to the Director General of the National Police to validate or not the disciplinary council process. If this holds, the major would then risk a sanction ranging from a simple warning to dismissal.
