On Monday there was an attempted fraud with false police officers in Kleinwalsertal. An 80-year-old and a 92-year-old were called on the landline phone.
On February 6, 2023, between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., two women aged 80 and 92 were called on their landline phones by an unknown person posing as a police officer. The man reported alleged burglaries in the neighborhood and asked about her financial assets, valuables, cash at home and the living situation and locking of doors and windows.
The women quickly realized that it was an attempt at fraud by fake police officers and gave no information. They said that if there were any break-ins, they would be notified by the local police. The conversation ended abruptly.
