Waterbury police have closed part of a busy highway for both vehicles and pedestrians while they investigate a homicide.

This all unfolded shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Main Street.

Officers found a man who had been shot in the neck. He was transported to Waterbury Hospital where he died from his injuries.

No one else was injured in the shooting and no arrests have been made as of yet.

Police have not said when they anticipate reopening that area of ​​West Main Street.
