Mexico City (May 16, 2023).- Banco Sabadell appointed Albert Figueras as its new general manager in Mexico, replacing Francisco Javier Lira Mariel.

The institution detailed in a statement that the replacement in the general direction of the bank will be effective once the regulatory protocols have been covered.

He added that the change is due to the objective of advancing with the group’s strategic and business plans in the country.

Figueras had been serving as deputy general director of Banco Sabadell, and up to now as the head of the business of companies in Spain.

Some of the strategic axes of its business in Mexico are in the areas of hotels and tourism, agriculture, real estate, infrastructure and medical tourism, among others.

Banco Sabadell leads the fourth Spanish private banking group, and currently exceeds 248 billion euros in total assets, has 11.6 million customers and more than 19,000 employees worldwide.

In addition, it has a commercial network in Spain, Mexico and the United Kingdom, branches in Miami, Lisbon, Paris and Casablanca as well as representative offices in New York, Beijing, New Delhi or Istanbul, among others.
