Banksy draws inspiration from the foliage of a pruned tree in his new mural

LONDON.- The artist Banksy On Wednesday, he described the criticism of the minister of the British Interior against a constructions yours in the festival de Glastonburydedicated to immigrants who cross the seas aboard small boats.

On social media, Conservative Home Secretary James Cleverly attacked the play, calling it “horrible” that “festival-goers playing immigrants are having fun,” the politician said, unaware that they were dealing with puppets.

“People are dying in the Mediterranean, they are dying in the English Channel. It’s not funny, it’s despicable,” the minister also lashed out on Sky News, in the midst of an election campaign in which immigration is an important issue.

Banksy’s response

“The Home Secretary called my boat at Glastonbury ‘ignoble and unacceptable’, which I think is exaggerated,” responded the artist, who rarely writes on his Instagram account.

“The real ship I funded, the MV Louise Michel, saved 17 unaccompanied minors” in the Mediterranean on Monday afternoon, Banksy wrote.

“To punish him, the Italian authorities immobilized him, which I find despicable and unacceptable,” the artist added.

According to the German humanitarian ship’s social media account, X, it picked up a total of 36 people, including 17 minors, on Monday before being able to disembark on the Italian island of Lampedusa.
