Youssoufa Moukoko (18) recently denied a report by ‘Bild’ that the offered annual salary of six million euros was not enough for him – and yet: An agreement between the young striker and Borussia Dortmund has been a long time coming, and it will end in the summer current employment relationship.

And so, from January 1, Moukoko is free to sign with another club without BVB’s consent and seal a free transfer after the season. Other clubs are lying in wait, like Chelsea FC, have long since taken the first steps towards a potential commitment.

FC Barcelona is also in the running. The ‘Sport’ reports that there has been contact for months and that the negotiations are said to be well advanced. In terms of salary, the cash-strapped Catalans could get less than the well-heeled Premier League representatives. A corresponding offer from Barcelona is planned.

Just a duel?

The La Liga leaders have also made it clear to the Moukoko camp that an early transfer in winter against payment of a fee is out of the question – an option which, according to ‘Sport’, was put forward by the players and which Dortmund are said to be willing to consider to avoid a zero exit in the summer.

At the Camp Nou, the Catalan daily sports newspaper continues to report, there are currently two realistic options in Moukoko poker: either the DFB striker extends at BVB or he moves to Barcelona. The next few weeks could bring clarity.
