Chihuahua.- In March, the price of the basic family basket amounted to 15,522.73 pesos, which represented an increase of 6.7% compared to the same period last year, reported the Private Sector Competitive Intelligence Platform (PICSP).

The PICSP detailed, according to data analyzed from Coneval and IMSS, that in March the value of the basic basket amounted to 4 thousand 311.87 pesos per month per person, so that when considering an average family of 3.6 members, it would be a total of 15 thousand 522.73 pesos.

Chihuahuans, he added, with an average family of 3.3 members, allocate 86.9% of their income to purchase the basic family basket.

The PICSP pointed out that the average salary is not enough in 21 entities to buy the basic basket. In the case of Chihuahua, with an average monthly salary of 16 thousand 371.73 pesos, it is placed in seventh place among the entities with an average salary above the cost of the basic family basket.

The first place is located in Mexico City, which has an average monthly salary of 20 thousand 339.73 pesos, followed by Campeche that registers an average monthly salary of 18 thousand 001.54 pesos, while Baja California ranks third when reaching a salary monthly average of 17 thousand 610.47 pesos.

In contrast, the entities that register an average monthly salary below the cost of the basic family basket are Sinaloa, with an average monthly salary of 12 thousand 010.88 pesos; Oaxaca that observes an average monthly salary of 12 thousand 445.61 pesos and Durango, with 12 thousand 521.25.
