Almost everything is ready for Yann Sommer’s move to Bayern Munich. Borussia Mönchengladbach still has to conclude the poker talks about the desired successor Jonas Omlin (29 / HSC Montpellier), then the foals will give their long-standing number one the green light for a transfer to Munich.
Apparently, the bosses of the record champions already have various scenarios in mind as to how summer could be dealt with if Manuel Neuer (36), who was injured on his shin, returned. According to a report in the ‘Bild’ newspaper, the 34-year-old Swiss can take off again after this season, provided Bayern collect a comparable fee, which they are now transferring to Gladbach: eight million euros plus 1.5 million euros as a bonus.
But it is also possible that Sommer has the ambition to fight with the new legend for the place between the posts. The big question in this context: In what form will the top dog present itself after its return? Can Neuer reach the world class of days gone by again?
