If you like cycling, you can watch the pros doing it in Belgium. You can even cycle at the mountain bike festival in Austria. There are cake feasts in Denmark and a new Canada flight from Frankfurt.
Cycling enthusiasts will get their money’s worth at two major events in Belgium in April, according to the Wallonie Belgique Tourisme tourism association. La Flèche Wallonne, the Walloon Arrow, starts on April 19 in Marche-en-Famenne and ends after 196 kilometers in Huy an der Maas. In the classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège cycle race, cyclists start on April 23 in Liège, cycle 260 kilometers through the Ardennes via Bastogne and finish in Liège.
Cake Festival in South Jutland
Tønder – The Danish town of Tønder invites you to the Cake Festival of Sønderjylland on April 29th. This is reported by the tourism agency Visit Denmark. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., sweet tooths will get their money’s worth at the traditional southern Jutland coffee table. Cakes, pies and pastries are accompanied by live music, lectures, a flea market and competitions such as the Danish Lagkage Baking Championship. This is the Danish layered cake with lots of cream and berries.
Mountain biking in the Alps
Angerberg – The Austrian town of Angerberg in the Hohe Salve region will be a paradise for mountain bikers on May 20th and 21st. According to the Kunz PR agency, the eldoRADo festival offers competitions for all age groups and a diverse supporting program with a sports fair, food and music. The Hohe Salve region has a total of around 180 kilometers of cycle paths.
Condor heads for Edmonton
Frankfurt/Main – The airline Condor will fly non-stop from Frankfurt to Edmonton from May 2023 with a Boeing 767. The flights to the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta are offered on Tuesdays and Fridays and cost from EUR 359.99 per person and route. Condor is thus heading for five Canadian destinations: in addition to Edmonton, there are Toronto, Vancouver, Whitehorse and Halifax.
