“My experience was a roller coaster, my first year was face-to-face, the following year it was virtual due to the pandemic and then I went to Taiwan for a year and a half. It was a transformative experience, full of experiences”maintained the engineer Laura Vazquezin chat with the GEN channel.
The young professional pointed out that Taiwan Tech is a prestigious university worldwide and that we have the privilege of having ua university of a similar level in our country, referring to the Taiwan Paraguay Polytechnic (UPTP).
The engineer, who is currently working as a software developerHe said that the classes were taught in English and they also had Chinese classes, which was a real challenge.
He also highlighted that a classmate of his has already been accepted for a master’s degree in Taiwan and other two are working on projects electromobility on the Asian island, which shows that the Paraguayan university opens doors to young people who decide to study.
Finally he urged young people to bet on the UPTP, telling them that “it is an unforgettable experience”.

In total there are 84 new engineers from the careers of the Faculty of Engineering, Civil, Electromechanical, Industrial and Computer Science who received their professional titles. The young people started classes in 2019 and despite the obstacles they managed to successfully complete their university studies.
The first class of engineers is called “Promotion 2022 – in honor of Matías Jesús Espínola Mereles”in memory of a Paraguayan scholar who died in Taiwanese territory.
Although up to now the UPTP does not have its own office, several proposals were made to the outgoing government. The university began its activities in a property of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee and as a result of the Odesur Olympics, the COP authorities requested the transfer to another place. It is currently in a property belonging to the Armed Forces.
