While Ubisoft has canceled three more titles and delayed the release of Skull and Bones, Beyond Good and Evil 2’s long road continues, the publisher has confirmed.

Longevity record holder for its development, Ubisoft’s video game Beyond Good and Evil 2 is not buried, confirmed a spokesperson for the French publisher from the specialized site Eurogamer.

Announced in 2008, the work of Michel Ancel (who left the video game world in 2020) is therefore not buried despite the Ubisoft’s current financial difficulties.

“The development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in progress and the team is working hard to keep its ambitious promise” assures the spokesperson, without giving further details.

Writing work

Because if the title has occasionally made a few appearances, especially during E3 2018 where it split a new trailer, its progress is a mystery. No release date or platform has been announced, but last August screenwriter Sarah Arellano announced to join the projectproof that the finalization is not yet for tomorrow.

In 2020, the production of Beyond Good & Evil 2 was turned upside down by the departure of Michel Ancel, creator of the first opus and the Rayman saga. This withdrawal from the world of video games preceded an investigation of Release on toxic management methods within the company. In the aftermath, several members of the management have been removed from their posts.
