Biden will address the fight against climate change on tour of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah

Biden is expected to discuss the Cut Inflation Act, America’s most important response to climate change and the drive toward cleaner energy manufacturing. The law aims to stimulate clean energy on a scale that will arc double the emissions of greenhouse gases from the United States.

July has been the hottest month ever recorded. Biden last week announced new measures to protect workers in extreme heat, including plans to improve weather forecasts and make drinking water more accessible.

Biden administration officials will also fan out in the coming weeks, around the anniversary of the landmark climate change and health care law, to celebrate the accomplishments of the federal government as the Democratic president seeks re-election in 2024.

Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Wisconsin this week with Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to discuss investments in broadband infrastructure. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will go to Oregon to highlight grants for wildfire defense; Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will address Illinois and Texas; and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona will be in Maryland to discuss career and technical education programs.
