konami has released revised financial guidance for the fiscal year end in March 2023. The document indicates that konami likely to post operating profits of just over half of what was originally forecast. In the As of May 2022, Konami expected operating profit to be 76,500 billion yeni.e. rounded approximately 540 million euros. The adjusted forecast now assumes significantly less money – It should now be 42,500 billion yenso approximately only 304 million euros for the fiscal year 2022/23. konami has therefore missed the forecast by a whole 44.4%. They did not want to explain exactly why Konami had adjusted the numbers. According to their own statements, there are probably “factors that require a revision of the planned profits for some titles in the digital entertainment business.” – Whatever this could mean.
eFootball 2023 is a cucumber
The Japanese entertainment company has not yet been able to shine with new titles this year. The biggest release this year was eFootball 2023, a new edition of the Pro Evolution soccer series. So football doesn’t seem to be able to foot the bills for Konami. Compared to FIFA 23 the Konami title performs ten times worse, at least in terms of player numbers on Steam.
Silent Hill as a lifeline?
konami is currently in the Revival of the Silent Hill franchise, with three titles that have already been announced but have not yet received an exact release date. The Silent Hill 2 remake probably got the most attention since that Polish Development studio Bloober Team took care of it. Bloober Team is known for their own horror series – Layers of Fear.
A new part of the main series was created with Silent Hill f also announced which of the Taiwanese development studio NeoBards Entertainment is to be produced. The studio is for Resident Evil Resistance known, the online component of Resident Evil 3 Remake. The author behind the game’s story is Ryukishi 07, known for his visual novel series When They Cry became famous.
The last title announced is Silent Hill: Townfall from the Scottish developer house No Codethat behind the title Stories Untold put. Annapurna Interactive will serve as co-producer of the game. The title should be the beginning of a Silent Hill spin-off series represent. So fans of the Silent Hill series can look forward to a lot of goosebumps.
