The dark adaptation of the Winnie the Pooh story has just won an official poster. The image shows the bear, now in an adult version, in front of a car, carrying a knife and a severed head. The film directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield hits theaters in February 2023bringing a macabre version of the story of one of the children’s characters most loved by children.

Entitled Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, in literal translation), the film will tell a slasher horror story (mass murder) in which Pooh and Piglet go on a killing spree after being left out by Christopher Robin when he leaves for college.

With no food or other option for survival, Christopher’s old friends decide to go on the attack, claiming several victims, including the little donkey Eeyore.

Bloody and tragic, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey makes room for other dark adaptations of children’s classics. The director himself, Waterfield, revealed to the US press that he is writing Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare (Peter Pan: A Nightmare in Neverland) and a retelling of bambi??

The audience can expect a story with lots of deaths and suspense. The film was shot near Ashdown Forest, located on the outskirts of East Sussex, England, which served as inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood, the setting where the story takes place.

Another information that is important to highlight is that the character Tigrão will not appear in the feature. This is because it was only possible to make the film when the story of Winnie the Pooh, released in 1926, entered the public domain, but the same did not (yet) happen with Tigger, who only entered the tale The House at Pooh Cornerin 1928.
