A man who went missing in Haverhill, Massachusetts, while kayaking a stretch of the Merrimack River was found dead Sunday night, according to state police.
A search for the missing person, so far only identified as a male, was ongoing Sunday afternoon by multiple police and fire agencies, the Massachusetts State Police said in a news release.
The Haverhill Fire Department found her body around 6:30 p.m., they said.
An investigation into the death has been launched, which is being handled by state police detectives with the Essex District Attorney’s Office, Haverhill police and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
