The new season of “Let’s Dance” starts on February 17th. Anna Ermakova will be in the popular RTL format in 2023. Before the broadcast starts, Boris Becker’s daughter talks about her parents’ “broom closet affair”.

Cologne – The new “Let’s Dance” season starts on February 17th on RTL and before the prominent participants hit the dance floor, they chat eagerly about their lives in the podcast for the show. It is no wonder that Anna Ermakova (22) in particular has a lot to tell – after all, as the illegitimate daughter of Boris Becker (55), she can look back on many eventful years. It doesn’t matter whether it’s her multicultural background or her parents’ “broom closet affair” – the native Londoner leaves no chapter untouched.

“Very funny family situation”: Anna Ermakova unpacks her life in the “Let’s Dance” podcast

Before Anna Ermakova talks about the notorious circumstances of her conception in the “Let’s Dance” podcast, she mainly addresses her colorful descent. Because although her father is one of the biggest names in the German celebrity world, Anna grew up with her mother and grandmother in London – and today hardly speaks German, but fluent English and Russian.

“I identify culturally as German, Russian, Nigerian and I’ve never lived in those places,” explains the model, admitting, “It’s this crazy feeling of wanting to belong somewhere but just not finding your place. And that is so frustrating and so difficult.”

The fact that family life was not always easy for her – Anna Ermakova, who rarely gives interviews despite her career as a model, makes no big secret of this. “It’s a very complicated situation, I have a very strange family situation,” she explains to RTL and emphasizes a little later: “Most children don’t know how they came about.”

“Do not define me”: “Let’s Dance” star Anna Ermakova calculates with “broom closet affair”.

The fact that she is the daughter of one of the greatest German athletes of all time would certainly be enough headline fodder, but above all the circumstances of her parents’ fleeting relationship are still hanging over Anna Ermakova to this day. Boris Becker and Angela Ermakova (55) had a short love affair in a London restaurant in 1999 – which is known as the “broom closet affair” and has accompanied the “Let’s Dance” candidate for a lifetime.

“When someone meets me and hears my name, it’s always an issue and you have to get a thick skin to get over it,” explains Anna Ermakova in her podcast interview. “Every time it feels like I have to prove myself again to get away from it,” says the art history student, but emphasizes: “I have my own personality and this thing doesn’t define me.”

With her “Let’s Dance” participation, Anna Ermakova apparently wants one thing above all: to prove that she is more than just the famous daughter from the headlines. The coming weeks will show whether she can also achieve the big victory. There will be a serious change in the new season of the popular dance show in 2023, because RTL kicked out the professional dancer Evgeny Vinokurov on “Let’s Dance”. Sources used: rtl.de
