Despite breaking the taboo again, Palmer is not a Nazi. Those who insult him like this are going too far and contributing to the escalation. Palmer reacts like Palmer, presents himself as a victim, babbles about the Star of David and puts the Holocaust into perspective by placing himself on the same level as those whom Hitler wanted to wipe out. You don’t know what’s worse. One thing is clear: Palmer went too far. Even those who have always had his back turn away in horror. Not least, he spat in the face of those who voted for him because they believed his party was doing him an injustice. He failed the probationary test. And should take the consequences.
