Today, Bose launched the new Bose home entertainment speaker 550, which supports Dolby Atmos content (Dolby Atmos) and is equipped with Bose’s unique TrueSpace enhanced original sound technology.

The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 can stream media using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. The SimpleSync function can pair the speaker with compatible Bose headphones or Bluetooth speakers to further expand the listening experience. The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 is priced at RMB 4,999 and will be available simultaneously at Bose official stores, official online platforms, and Bose authorized dealer stores from January 15, 2023.

The new Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 features a small and compact design that still packs enough sound without adding extra height. The height, depth, and length of the Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 are 5.61cm, 10.4cm, and 69.4cm, and can be placed under the TV without blocking the screen. The overall body is designed in Bose’s iconic black color scheme and surrounded by a metal grille.

The Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550 is simple to set up, requiring only an HDMI eARC cable or an optical cable to connect to the TV.

The new product offers flexible streaming options for instant access to your favorite streaming music services using Wi-Fi or Apple AirPlay2. You can also connect your phone or tablet via Bluetooth to play content on the device.

When playing Dolby Atmos content, the precise Bose digital signal processing and Atmos decoding technology combined with the built-in 5 sound units can allow the sound to be transmitted to places without speakers, bringing a surround-style listening experience. Two outward-facing racetrack-shaped drivers project sound horizontally across the room, while a central high-frequency driver delivers clear vocals. The two upward sounding units not only enhance the sound field in the horizontal direction, but also refract the sound to simulate the sound above the head.

Even when watching non-Dolby Atmos content, users can still experience immersive sound effects. Bose TrueSpace enhanced original sound technology can intelligently analyze non-Dolby content such as stereo or 5.1 channels through the built-in 5 sound units, and resynthesize the sound signal.

For TV and music content, Bose QuietPort technology enables the speaker 550 to have good bass performance, ensuring near-distortion-free performance at any volume.

The Home Entertainment Speaker 550 is also compatible with all other Bose speakers for a multi-room sound system, or it can be paired with a Bose subwoofer and rear speakers for a home theater experience. Through the Bose Music App, you can set up, operate, and personalize the Bose Home Entertainment Speaker 550, use the SimpleSync function, and get real-time firmware updates.
