Boxcryptor is now reminding all existing customers of this by email. Dropbox has already started with the Announcement of the acquisition of the German company Boxcryptor made it clear that existing customers will continue to be looked after. Dear User,
We are hereby terminating your Boxcryptor Free account on January 31, 2023. You can continue to use Boxcryptor as usual until this date, but we will no longer offer you an extension of your license.
Important: Your account will be suspended on January 31, 2023. Make sure to follow our migration guide to decrypt your data before January 31, 2023.
The migration guide includes:
- decrypting your data
- Export your keys
It is no longer possible to extend your license or switch to another tariff. You can find more information and background information in our blog.
We will permanently delete all data associated with your account 30 days after the termination date. Contract data is kept for as long as required by law, eg for tax reasons.
