The governor of the province of Santa Fe, Omar Perotti, received this Thursday the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli. The meeting was held in the White Room of the Government House.

After the meeting, Perotti said that “Santa Fe’s strategy is to grow its exports, diversify them and win markets. Each export that leaves Santa Fe is the work of our people that goes out into the world and, particularly, where we felt we had room to grow was in Brazil”.

“As soon as Daniel Scioli took office at the embassy, ​​we began working in times of pandemic. All that planted, without a doubt that it is beginning to bear fruit. Brazil went from being the fifth destination of exports from the province of Santa Fe to the second, which is the place it is occupying today. This clearly speaks of the potential and interest shown today in the presence of companies and institutions”, added Perotti.

“The expectations are the best and they are growing, it is a good moment for many of the industrial sectors because it is the manufactures of industrial origin that we export, in the first place, to Brazil. That is to say, they are exports with added value that leave the province of Santa Fe”, concluded the governor.

On the other hand, the ambassador in Brazil, Daniel Scioli, explained that “we are giving continuity to an agenda that has a very clear objective: to promote the maximum value-added exports of the economy of Santa Fe based on the decision made by the governor of mobilize all the productive forces. This is reflected in the advances that export growth has had”.

“The work of the embassy is with a strong executive and commercial imprint to increase trade and opportunities for the economy of Santa Fe,” explained the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, while thanking “Governor Perotti and his entire team for the coordination that we have achieved with the Embassy to produce and add value to the raw material”.

The 2023 work agenda included the commercial promotion of this year, the presentation of the action plan of the province of Santa Fe with Brazil, since Brazil became the second destination market of the province and the presentation of the Expo Apras 2023 Fair. (April 18 to 20, Curitiba).

For his part, the Minister of Production, Science and Technology, Daniel Costamagna, highlighted “this great challenge of continuing to increase this important link we have with Brazil. There are 170 companies from the province that export to Brazil. Therefore, in this constant challenge to continue working and strengthening these ties”.

Finally, the Secretary of Foreign Trade, Germán Burcher, detailed the work plan for 2023 of the Santa Fe Global Agency and the Secretariat, which “is flexible, feasible to incorporate activities, which arises from the dialogue with the institutions and reflects the importance that Brazil has for the province of Santa Fe”.

In this sense, he explained that “in 2021, for Santa Fe it was the fifth destination country for exports; in 2022 it became the second, product of the growth that manufacturing of agricultural origin and industrial origin have had. Exports to Brazil grew 26%”.

Next, Burcher specified that for “2023 we have 7 events planned, out of a total of 60; that is, more than 10% of the commercial promotion action that the province is going to carry out is focused on Brazil. The first is Apras, a supermarket fair in Curitiba, with more than 11 companies, out of a total of 48 Argentine companies”, concluded the Secretary of Foreign Trade.

The remaining fairs are Automec, Apas, Hospitalar, Big Festival, Super Bahia and Rio Oil & Gas.
