With the brigade members and air resources fighting the fire started on the Currumahuida hill in El Hoyo, Chubut, the Investigation Brigade of the Police of that province began an ex officio investigation to determine the possible causes of the origin of the fire and flatly ruled out the veracity of a pamphlet in which the Mapuche Ancestral Resistance (RAM) allegedly claimed responsibility for the act.

The Deputy Commissioner Emanuel Morales, Head of the regional headquarters of the Investigation Brigade, which covers the jurisdiction of the Andean Region of Chubut, discarded the pamphlet that was disseminated through social networks and the press.

“The pamphlet is old, it was not found at the site of the fire source and it is not from now. Someone uploaded it to the networks and this grew, ”said the deputy commissioner who discarded the document.

The paper that went viral was white with a printed inscription, in a computer typeface and with freehand writing above it. He mentioned the «Mapuche National Liberation and Reconstruction« and affirmed that it was a notice for the Andean Region followed by the slogan: «We will not stop until Patagonia burns and we recover our territory. This is hallowed ground for RAM.”

Morales further indicated that no complaint received from any neighbor who has observed the intention of starting the fire. “Notwithstanding the magnitude, An ex officio investigation began with the survey of the area in search of possible witnesses or people who have seen something,” explained the head of the Chubut Investigation Brigade in the Andean Region.

In any case, and despite the course of the investigation, unscrupulous opposition leaders wanted to use this fact.
