Fernando Burlando, lawyer for the parents of Fernando Báez Sosa, this afternoon joined the prosecution’s request to sentence the eight accused of the crime to life imprisonment, maintaining that “all” the accused had the “will to kill” and planned a ” manhunt”, while the victim was “shot with blows and kicks”.
“The image of Fernando on his knees asking for mercy. That is the image that for this representation justifies neither more nor less the request for life imprisonment for the defendants,” said the lawyer for the victim in his presentation before the Oral Criminal Court ( OCD) 1 of Dolores.
Burlando adhered “totally” to the prosecution’s argument and pointed out that Fernando “was the object” of “a human hunt.”
“Everyone, absolutely everyone participated, they all murdered Fernando. Our claim for Justice in the face of what we do not hesitate to call Fernando’s ordeal, the responsibility of those who were his eight murderers, is basically summed up in two moments of savagery and horror,” described.
“Fernando on his knees, his hands on the floor and without even looking, because perhaps he understood that this look could mean disrespect, he raises his hand and asks for mercy. The response was a kick to the head, one more and another “, said Burlando, who described the victim at the time of the attack as “a bag of potatoes.”
For the lawyer, the defendants “made the decision and killed” and remarked: “There was a will to kill and that’s why they killed. That morning they laid a real human fence over Fernando to be able to act safely.”

Previously, they marked him, surrounded him, waited for the right moment when the police officers withdrew so they did not have any kind of fence, nothing to stop them,” he said.
And he continued: “Once surrounded, they attacked it from different flanks. Although the key attack was the one imposed from behind and all of them, absolutely all of them together.”

The lawyer pointed to the defendant Máximo Thomsen as “leader of the pack” and who was accompanied by “his obsequious”
“He announced the outcome with a very eloquent gesture, running his finger down his throat,” Burlando recalled about Thomsen’s sign.
“They knew that they had killed a young man, and between joy and emotion, at some point they had the idea of going back to look for Fernando’s friends. After such a savage act, they not only fled the scene of the crime, but also tried to disguise what happened with a series of attitudes,” he explained.
And in this sense, he stressed that they accused “an innocent person who was hundreds of kilometers from the place”, in reference to the rower Pablo Ventura, who was in Zárate.
“Fernando had a life ahead of him, dreams to fulfill, which the defendants took from him for the simple decision to kill. They killed to kill, to win, to be pushed, to take a trophy in life. They didn’t care who, obviously From the first meeting they had with Fernando, their plan was to kill,” he added.
Regarding the motive for the crime, Burlando maintained that the evidence proves that it was due to a previous incident within “Le Brique” that occurred due to “the excessive number of attendees” in the bowling alley.
He specified that a series of blows between the two groups “motivated Fernando to intercede to separate them and confront” Thomsen, who made “a specific death threat” while he was being expelled, by “pointing and passing his hand around the neck of the left to right”.
According to the lawyer, at approximately 4:37 p.m., the defendants carried out the attack against Fernando, who was their “objective since he had the incident with Thomsen.
“Once assembled they carried out the plan, consciously and freely agreeing among all to kill Fernando with reflexive perversity, counting on the surprise factor, product of the victim’s neglect,” he said.
