Marco Reus is currently playing his eleventh season in Dortmund. He’s now a club icon: a key player on the pitch, a leader in the dressing room and a fan favorite in the corner.
His contract expires at the end of the season. the BVB bosses Hans-Joachim Watzke and Sebastian Kehl are confident that Reus will extend his contract and at least another twelfth year will follow. “We’re going to take it relatively easy,” said sports director Kehl back in July. “We have a very, very high level of trust.”

Captain Reus probably wants to continue his successful time at BVB. “BVB is my club, Dortmund is my hometown and I would like to end my career here,” he said at the beginning of the season.

In the meantime, however, Moukoko has received numerous other highly endowed offers. Top clubs like Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea and Liverpool have already expressed interest in the hope of signing a top talent on a free transfer this summer. Most recently, Newcastle United are said to have pushed up the price with a mega offer (nine million annual salary, plus 30 million earnest money).
At the training camp in Marbella Sebastian Kehl has now reached a basic agreement with Moukoko advisor Patrick Williams. How “sky” reported, Moukoko will sign a four-year contract – apparently with an annual salary of three million euros. The “picture“, on the other hand, reports a significantly improved offer of six million euros per year.
Reus sends consultants looking for a club, negotiations with Kehl are pending
Being able to tie the hopes of youngsters up front is a win for BVB, as team captain Reus probably knows. However, the 33-year-old is annoyed that his contract is quietly expiring in the shadow of Moukoko poker.
According to “WAZ“The Reus side perceives the standstill in negotiations as “disrespect”. How “sports1” reported Reus asked his advisor Dirk Hebe “for the first time in his career” to look for a club for him.
“Of course I’m looking ahead, I still have six months under contract,” the national player is quoted as saying. “It would be wrong if I didn’t think about it.” Most recently, FC Al-Nassr is said to have made him a lucrative offer; the club from Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo now also plays.

It is conceivable that Reus only wants to strengthen its negotiating position with further offers. After all, BVB is planning to reform its salary structures, which could also have a negative impact on Reus’ salary.
Sebastian Kehl wants to start negotiations with Reus and his advisors in the next few days. This time BVB can’t take too much time. After all, other players like Mats Hummels and Anthony Modeste are still awaiting talks about their future.
Edin Terzić is currently living the dream of every coach. All his players are fit, so the BVB coach can draw on unlimited resources when implementing his tactical ideas. That’s important, because the pressure in Dortmund is great again.
