In winter, Iván Fresneda decided against leaving Real Valladolid. After the current season, however, the time could be right for the just 18-year-old right-back. His club is basically open to a sale – but certainly not to Peanuts.
“We want to grow and we recognize that selling players is one way to do that”Valladolid sporting director Fran Sánchez tells The Athletic “when an offer comes in, we will consider it and accept it if it’s in the best interest of all parties.” But: “We will not sell below value.”
20 million euros expected
For Borussia Dortmund and other interested parties, there is an ever-increasing hurdle. From Fresneda’s attachment it can be heard that the transfer fee should now tend towards 20 million euros. The teenager has long since ceased to pass as a bargain.
This has a lot to do with the growing demand. BVB and FC Arsenal have been vying for the player’s favor for months, but according to ‘The Athletic’ they are now facing competition from other unnamed clubs. “Everyone wants to be part of the best teams in the world and of course that’s my ambition too”Fresneda himself can be quoted.
