Will Jude Bellingham leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer? Or does he stay? Recently, various reports from the Spanish newspapers “AS” and “Marca” caused confusion. While “Marca” was already talking about an agreement between Real and Bellingham, “AS” reported a few hours later that there was nothing to it.

Reports from “Bild” also currently suggest that Real Madrid is Bellingham’s favorite, but that no agreement has yet been reached. In addition, the royals are said to have had no contact with BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl.

BVB: Bellingham departure is likely

Nevertheless, it is very likely that Bellingham will leave Dortmund in the coming transfer window. As the “AS” reports, BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke in particular has already considered a negotiation tactic for this case.

The goal: A Bellingham departure should bring at least 150 million euros into the club coffers.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Watzke has prepared a number of arguments for this. For example, the 63-year-old should use the latest transfers from comparable players. On the one hand there is Aurélien Tchouaméni, for whom Real paid 80 million euros last summer. 20 million euros can be added by bonus payment.

However, Watzke sees Tchouaméni’s sporting value as lower than that of Bellingham. The next comparison transfer should be Enzo Fernández, who moved from Benfica to Chelsea in the winter for 120 million euros.

Since Watzke is also said to consider the Argentine weaker than Bellingham, a transfer fee of 150 million euros can be derived from this.

So far, Real are said to be ready to pay a fee of 100 million euros with an additional 20 million euros in bonus payments. BVB, on the other hand, is hoping for a bet between Real, Manchester City and Liverpool. The Reds in particular should not be able to afford a commitment from the English international.

Another point that could play into Dortmund’s cards is Bellingham’s contract period until 2025. With a remaining term of around two years and no exit clauses, the decision lies with Kehl. In addition, Bellingham’s father and advisor will also want to force a change this summer.

The reason: From the summer of 2024, FIFA will limit consultant commissions. Then the father would collect less. The Bellinghams are therefore interested in the demands of Dortmund being met this year. Then Watzke and Kehl could probably look forward to 150 million euros for new players.
