The Government of the City of Buenos Aires announced labor measures for those who receive social plans in the district. As explained, the aim is to “link” the social benefit with the training to “give options” to the beneficiaries.

“Porteña Citizenship is a direct transfer program from the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat for vulnerable households in the City,” official sources said.

These measures will be incorporated to “develop capacities” and have “more tools and real opportunities” in labor insertion. Therefore, those who receive social plans must attend job training courses according to their interests.

These trainings will be provided by the Learning Agency, in charge of the Buenos Aires Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, the local government “will bring them job offers so that they can integrate into the formal market and thus generate more income and autonomy.”

The first stage of this program will reach ten thousand people between the ages of 25 and 60, who do not have dependent children or registered employment. “What we are looking for with this measure is that the person who needs our assistance today is better prepared to find a job in the current labor market,” said María Migliore, head of the Human Development and Habitat portfolio of Buenos Aires.

Registration and requirements

Those who are within this group reached by the program must update their information until May 31 at the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat online or in person, without prior appointment. It will be mandatory to continue receiving the social plan within the City of Buenos Aires.

“The beneficiaries will have to accredit a minimum of 40 hours of training for employment every 12 months. Compliance will be verified with quarterly checks”, they highlighted.

If you do not present a certificate or proof to attend, “the program will be suspended until the beneficiary proves registration or regular completion.” They will be hybrid courses, that is, face-to-face and virtual, and registration can be done at [email protected].

The options for those who must attend are: waiter; data management and processing operator; cell phone and tablet repairer; balancer rubber; application tester; professional bartenders; operator of digital presentation tools; work painter; plasterboard installer; operator of digital marketing tools.

The City Government will be in charge of offering job offers to which the beneficiaries must attend, and they cannot refuse or miss two or more interviews without justification: “Otherwise, they will be suspended until the person conducts a new job interview.” .

“In the event that the beneficiary rejects two job offers without proving a justified reason, the benefit will be suspended until he requests registration again and performs at least one activity to strengthen soft skills,” they clarified.

In this sense, they mentioned that the valid justifications for rejecting a job interview are the distance, if you need to use more than two buses or train or travel more than two hours; for health reasons with a medical certificate; or that the salary offered is less than the minimum wage.
