In the beginning of the monththere were rumors that the Resurgence mode of Call of Duty: Warzone 2, could win an unprecedented map as part of the news presented by the second season of the game.
This week, in addition to revealing a delay in the launch of the new season, now scheduled for February 15thActivision has confirmed the release of the new map.
Our studio teams are making a number of changes based on what we hear from our player community.
Season 2 includes all new content, with the return of resurgence and a new small map for Warzone 2.0.

The announcement also briefly reveals the return of ranked play in Modern Warfare 2, along with new multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and “much more.” Infinity Ward, the developers behind Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, followed up on the announcement by revealing that they will be sharing more details about Season 2 in a post on their official blog next week.
The brief post states that fans can expect “exciting changes” to the gulag, loot system, and weaponry.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 could get a new Resurgence map soon, according to a rumor. In early December, leaked Season 2 art revealed details, a new operator, and weapons.
Apparently, it should also bring the Castle map from Call of Duty: World at War. It is styled based on historical Japanese architecture, bringing a unique look. However, the map should reach Resurgence mode soon.

A new article from Insider Gaming claims that two sources have confirmed that the Castle map will be part of Resurgence mode at the launch of Season 2. However, the information should still be treated as a rumor until Activision confirms the contents of the next update.
This isn’t the first time Castle has been cited as a new Resurgence map. The Warzone 2 community has been speculating about the matter after a leak cited the location as a small Japanese island in the Rebirth Island reboot.

Due to the number of rumors, it will be difficult for Castle not to be part of the next batch of content, mainly due to the number of sources that mention him. However, plans may change and it is not a guarantee that the map will actually be added to the game.
The title should bring a lot of content in Season 2, with Resurgence standing out since its inclusion in the original Warzone, offering a unique experience. Expected to be released in February, the official announcement of the new season should take place in January.
