Caminera penalized almost 280 drunk drivers this week

President Santiago Peña highlighted the holding of the summit with representatives of the powers of the State, an occasion in which they discussed lines of action for the fight against corruption.

“For me it was key to close this first week of responsibility at the head of the Executive Branch, to dialogue with them and convey my request to work together on the great challenges facing Paraguay“, affirmed Peña after the meeting with various authorities held in Mburuvicha Róga.

In turn, he expressed his satisfaction with the organization of the first summit of powersthanking those who participated in the call this Sunday.

The central axis of the summit was the fight against corruption and the actions to be taken from the different state agencies, he said. “Corruption is a scourge that erodes the strength of institutions and prevents development“.

“This fight has to find us united”, affirmed Peña, emphasizing that Paraguay will not be able to conquer the great challenges and objectives set independentlyso it is crucial to achieve unity as a society.

The head of state announced that a new meeting between authorities will be convened during the weekin order to continue working on the joint work agenda.

The summit of powers was headed by President Santiago Peña and Vice President Pedro Alliana, with the participation of Head of the National Congress, Senator Silvio Ovelar and the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, César Diesel.

Also present were the State Attorney General, Emiliano Rolón, and the Comptroller General of the Republic, Camilo Benítez.
