Can Taylor Swift make it in time to see Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl?

THE ANGELS.- When the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday to advance to the Super Bowl, the question on fans’ minds quickly became: Will Taylor Swift be able to attend to support her partner, the tight end of the Chiefs Travis Kelce, if he has a concert in Tokyo the day before?

It seems like everyone is banking on Swift crossing the Pacific after her Feb. 10 concert to cheer on Kelce in Las Vegas on Feb. 11 — even American Airlines and United Airlines are in the know.

But can he do it? And what will his jet-setting lifestyle be like for the next two weeks?

February 4, Taylor Swift at the Grammys

Taylor Swift will likely head to Sunday’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, where she is nominated in six categories; three for Anti-Hero (Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance), two for his album Midnights (Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album), and one for his collaboration with rapper Ice Spice on Karma (Best Pop Duo/Group Performance), making her one of the most nominated artists of the night. If Swift wins Album of the Year, she would break the record for most wins in the top category, with four.

From Los Angeles to Tokyo

The tour Eras Swift’s performance, the first to gross more than $1 billion thanks to its dates last year, resumes in Tokyo in 2024, where Swift will perform for four nights. Travel time is approximately 12 hours, more than 8,690 kilometers (5,400 miles), flying across nine time zones and crossing the International Date Line. Swift flies on private planes, so getting through customs and security will likely be much faster than commercial travel.

A long trip

Flying from California to the Japanese capital, Swift will lose 17 hours. That means that if you left Los Angeles on the morning of Monday, February 5, say, around 9:00 am, in Tokyo it would be 2:00 am on February 6, and you would likely arrive around 2: 00 pm to Japan.

From 7 to 10 February

Swift will perform at the Tokyo Dome with capacity for 55,000 attendees. There are no opening artists announced, and the show is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. Their tour concerts last about three hours and 15 minutes, meaning it could end around 9:15 p.m. A Tokyo Dome spokesperson He told the AP that the sound system must be turned off by 9:30 p.m. That doesn’t mean everyone has to leave by 9:30 p.m., but the concert must end before then.

From Tokyo to Las Vegas

Tokyo is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas. If Swift leaves Tokyo at midnight after her last concert in that city, it would be 7:00 a.m. on Saturday in Las Vegas. An average flight from Tokyo to Los Angeles takes about 10 hours. If she can fly directly to Las Vegas without fuel stops, it would be about 11 or 12 hours. (There are no direct commercial flights from Tokyo to Las Vegas, so it would be on a private flight.) Barring delays, she would be arriving in Las Vegas the night before the game.

February 11th

The San Francisco 49ers’ championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs begins at 3:30 pm (2200 GMT) on Sunday in Las Vegas. Airlines are aware and have changed flight numbers to reflect Kelce and Swift’s relationship. Both Kelce and Swift were born in 1989, and that’s also the title of one of Swift’s albums. American Flight 1989 is scheduled to fly twice from Kansas City, Missouri, to Las Vegas on February 9 and 10.

From Las Vegas to Melbourne

On Friday, February 16, Swift kicks off the Australian leg of her tour in Melbourne with three consecutive dates at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds, with Sabrina Carpenter opening. If she decides to fly directly to Australia after the Super Bowl for her rehearsals, it would be a trip of at least 17 hours from Las Vegas, or 16 hours if she flies directly from Los Angeles, and more than 13,000 kilometers (8,100 miles) .

Total

Considering all of the above, Swift will have traveled more than 30,500 kilometers (19,400 miles) in just under two weeks, not including transportation to and from venues, hotels, the airport and any travel that occurs between the Super Bowl and the dates of his tour of Melbourne. For reference, the circumference of the Earth is 40,000 kilometers (24,900 miles).
