The national senator participated in the first meeting of the “Network of Women for Democracy” organized in Santa Fe that aims to promote and enhance the role of women in political spaces.

Women have a lot to contribute from politics. We are not only here for the photo, to meet a quota or to applaud from one side of the table. Women can and want to be the protagonists of the destiny of our country,” said national senator Carolina Losada during the first meeting in the province of Santa Fe organized by the Women’s Democracy Network (WDN), which aims to promote and strengthen the role of women in the different political and decision-making spaces.

This international organization is dedicated to political empowerment of women leaderscommitted to strengthening parity democracies by holding different training workshops for female candidates.
The participation of the national senator and vice president of the senate was in turn an example present at the meeting held in the provincial capital.

We want to prepare together and share our experiences so that women can generate successful electoral campaigns that allow us to access public office,” said Losada, referring to the actions and testimonies that were shared during the day that focused on providing and making available different tools for planning campaigns, political communication strategies, leadership, negotiation, construction of personal image and discourse with a gender perspective.

“Las women with a strong political vocation they have to be prepared to occupy decision-making positions in the event that they decide to be candidates, for this reason it seems extremely important to us that at the same time, we commit to mainstreaming the gender perspective, learn from each other, empower ourselves together, work side by side elbow so that women can, more and more, be present in the places of decision and not just be a necessary element for the photo or that they continue to sit at the side of the table”.

Female leadership has very important attributes that our country should not be lost and that is why in our condition as women, beyond the political flag, we have to empower ourselves, continue breaking those historical barriers to break with the models of the past”, she added.

During her participation, the Vice President of the Senate said: “If a woman enters politics, the one that changes is the woman, but if many enter politics, the policy changes”. “Look how many we are here today. When I started working in politics, I did it because I wanted to change things, so if there are so many of us who want to change things, I’m sure we’re going to make it, “she concluded.

The course, which does not have an exclusive partisan purpose, is part of the third edition of the training for candidates “Ask Woman To Run”an adaptation of the Yale University program, seeks to enhance the capacities of women to lead in terms of gender and reach decision-making positions in the three powers of the state, social movements, political parties, union organizations and civil society.
