Microsoft is reporting an issue related to Microsoft 365 services. As a result, some customers are currently unable to access the MS 365 services. Apparently, only one Internet service provider in the USA is currently affected.

As far as can be determined at this time, the problem only affects users in North America and there only the Internet service provider Verizon. Initially there were reports that Microsoft 365 had failed in the USA and that there were also connection problems in other countries.

Affected users exchanged information about the problems on social networks and various forums. Finally, Microsoft spoke to Twitter about the incident, among others. So far, however, there have not been many explanations and no general all-clear that all services are running again.

Cause still unclear

The group has confirmed problems and has already been able to narrow them down: “We are investigating an issue where some users in North America cannot access Microsoft 365 services,” according to Microsoft Support. “We are analyzing network trace logs to isolate the cause of the issue.” A short time later, the first all-clear came, stating that only a specific ISP was affected: “Our telemetry indicates that the network environment managed by Microsoft is healthy. The problem appears to be limited to a specific ISP. More details can be found in the admin center at MO498385.”

According to the Microsoft 365 status page everything is working fine at the moment. So you will have to wait for a solution from Verizon. Just a few days ago, Microsoft was already struggling with OneDrive and Skype failures. The failures at Skype are still going on.
