Four people were injured, two seriously when two cars collided head-on on kilometer No. 839 of Cerro Azul at the intersection with access to the town of Arroyo del Medio.
The event occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday, when for reasons that are the subject of investigation, a Volkswagen Gol Trend car, driven by a 24-year-old businessman who was driving in the Alem-Cerro Azul direction, hit a Toyota vehicle head-on in the opposite lane. Corolla, driven by a 53-year-old man, who was accompanied by a 38-year-old woman and a minor under 16 years of age, all residing in the city of Almafuerte.
Due to the crash, all the occupants of the Corolla suffered serious injuries. They were first transferred and treated at the Alem hospital. The doctor on duty diagnosed that the 53-year-old driver suffered trauma to the thorax, abdomen and skull, while the minor presented trauma to the skull and closed abdomen; Due to the complexity of the injuries, both were referred to a more complex center in the city of Posadas. While the woman suffered a fractured right clavicle and head and knee trauma, remaining in the Alem hospital.
As for the 24-year-old who was traveling on the Gol Trend, he suffered hip trauma and abrasions on both knees, remaining under observation at the Alem hospital. The breathalyzer test for the 24-year-old came back positive.
The staff of the Scientific Police Division of the VI Regional Unit worked at the site, for the purposes of rigorous expertise. While by order of the Investigating Court 5 of Alem, the vehicles involved were kidnapped for expert purposes.
