The presidential spokesperson Gabriela Cerrutti, assured that there is a “political persecution against Vice President Cristina Kirchner.” In this sense, she maintained that “the case in which she was convicted is invented.”

In her usual press conference on Thursdays, the national official explained: “What the Government understands is that there is a judicial persecution against the vice president.” In addition, she added: “The cause in which she was convicted is invented, she has neither head nor tail.”

According to Cerrutti, Cristina Kirchner “She was taken with the firm intention of condemning her and, therefore, disqualifying her, which is to ban her from participating in the next elections.” In this way, she explained that the Judicial disqualifications are often used as a form of political proscription.

In turn, the presidential spokesperson stated: “The President absolutely believes that Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has nothing to do with everything that is accused of in this legal case.”

At the same time, he maintained: “The attempt to disqualify her, which is not firm now, but which can be at any time, in an election year, is a tool of justice to be used at any time and what it seeks is that she cannot participate in the electoral situations that occur in Argentina”.
