In addition to FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Patrice Motsepe, African football legends will also be present at the opening ceremony of CHAN-2022 in Algeria. The latter promises to be grandiose, it must be said.

CHAN-2022 will kick off in three days. Everything is ready so that the opening ceremony, which precedes the first match Algeria-Libya, takes place in the best possible conditions and above all so that the show is assured. It will take place at the Nelson Mandela Stadium (Baraki).

Several emblematic figures will be present to attend. We quote in particular the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and that of CAF, Patrice Motsepe. Better, the legends of African football will also be present. The latter will not be content to attend the opening ceremony, but rather the entire tournament from January 13 to February 4, 2023.

Who are the African legends invited to attend the tournament?

Indeed, no less than eight legends of African football were invited to attend the opening ceremony but also the competition. They are Didier Drogba and Yaya Touré (Ivory Coast), Roger Milla (Cameroon), Karim Haggui (Tunisia), Emmanuel Adebayor (Togo), Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria), Hadji Diouf (Senegal) and Gyan Asamoah (Ghana).

“The Organizing Committee has invited a host of former legends of African football to attend the competition, like the Ivorians Didier Drogba and Yaya Touré, the Cameroonian Roger Milla, the Tunisian Karim Haggui, the Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor, Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha, Senegalese Hadji Diouf, and Ghanaian Gyan Asamoah”. The local organizing committee said in a statement posted on its official Facebook page.

The opening ceremony will also be hosted by several Algerian singers. We quote in particular the famous rapper Soolking. The least we can say is that the opening ceremony promises to be grandiose.
