The national team of Algeria A’ will therefore not have succeeded in winning the coveted title of the CHAN-2022. Coach Madjid Bougherra’s men lost this evening in the final to the Senegalese team at the end of the penalty shootout (5-4); the meeting ended in a goalless draw (0-0).
Just after the final whistle, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebbounesent a message on his official Twitter account in which he hailed the “heroic journey” of the Greens and paid tribute to the Algerian public who, through their exemplary behavior, ensured that this tournament was a total success.
“Thank you to the national team for their heroic performance throughout the CHAN (African Nations Championship). Thanks also to Algerian public for having contributed to the success of this continental tournament”, wrote President Tebboune.
