In one of the snaps, Charles III poses with his heir son William and his eldest son, George. The other photo shows the Sovereign, with Queen Consort Camilla, and their grandchildren.

Quite a symbol. Buckingham Palace released two official photos of Charles III’s coronation on Friday, which had not yet been released. In the first shot, the sovereign poses with his son William on his left, and on his right, the eldest son of the latter, George, grandson of the king. Three generations united in the same photograph, and above all Charles III with his two heirs, the next in line of succession to the British crown.

The photo was taken in the throne room of the palace, as reported by British media, including the BBC. Charles III wears the imperial crown, and the coronation robes.

The monarch wears the symbols of the monarchy: the orb and the sceptre, and is seated on one of the chairs used during the coronation of Edward VIII.

In the second shot, the King and Queen Consort Camilla pose with their Pages of Honor and the ladies present at the coronation. Also taken in the throne room on the day of the coronation, the king wears his crown and robe of succession, while the queen wears her crown. The queen is photographed alongside her sister Annabel Elliot, her grandsons Freddy Parker Bowles, Gus and Louis Lopes, as well as her great-nephew Arthur Elliot.

Two days after his coronation on Monday, King Charles III thanked the British, saying their support was “the greatest coronation gift”.
