O Luxembourg will participate again in the Eurovision Song Contest in the next edition, in 2024. The announcement was made this Friday, on the eve of the final of this year’s contest.

The return takes place 30 years after the last participation of the Grand Duchy, in 1993, and 40 years after the last victory, in 1983.

“We are delighted to welcome Luxembourg to the Eurovision Song Contest after 30 years. The country has one of the most successful records in the contest, with five wins in the first three decades of the contest alone. We look forward to working with RTL on their return to the world’s biggest live music event in 2024,” announced Eurovision Executive Director Martin Österdahl.

With five wins, Luxembourg is the third most successful country in the contest, alongside France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, who are behind only Sweden (6) and Ireland (7).

The Luxembourgish station RTL has already announced that it will transmit all the shows of the next edition live and, in July, information on the selection process of candidates to represent the country will be announced.

Remember the ten best participations of Luxembourg:

While Luxembourg does not return to the competition, tomorrow, Saturday, the final of this year’s edition is expected, which will take place in Liverpool, in the United Kingdom. The Portuguese Mimicat, who performs ‘Ai Coração’, qualified in the first semifinal and will be the second to take the stage.
