This Monday, January 30, the channel is launching the first part of the portraits of those who will make our hearts vibrate when we witness their love at first sight at the start of the school year.. In the meantime, they must go through the delicate stage of the interview with Karine Le Marchand in front of which they will have to expose themselves. Among them, we will discover in particular Julien, the farmer who has already participated in the show, Olivier, a man complexed by his school career or even Baptiste, a dad so upset by his previous breakup that he lost 13 kg in three weeks. .

This year, viewers will also be able to discover Perrine, aged 26, an organic snail farmer from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, as well as Christine, a 61-year-old breeder of dogs and cats from New Aquitaine, not forgetting Anaïs, a 35-year-old goat farmer located in the same region. These three women are the only farmers of the week and therefore complete the cast with 11 farmers. Last year, four women were on the air compared to three the previous season. A figure which was then (very) slightly increasing since season 15 had only seen… two women looking for love.

But then why are there so many men in the program and so few women? Asked by Tele-Leisurethe production responds that “the number of women over a season is representative of the number of spontaneous registrations of women we have received“. In summary, if 30% of the applications received are sent by women, then around 30% of the final casting will be made up of women farmers.”There is no actual quota but for the show to be representative of society, it would be nonsense to make a season without any female presence“, adds the production. If the public dreams of having parity one day on the show, it would therefore be necessary for the people in charge of the casting to receive as many female applications as male!
